Hello all :)
I just wanted to point out that I feel extremely uncomfortable with this
rule:
"1. Legal: Local Chapters are in no way legally affiliated with The
OWASP Foundation. Chapter leaders and members are encouraged to
participate in OWASP projects, but may not use the OWASP name or logo
except for the official Chapter website and Chapter mailing list."
While I understand what the legal intention is, I think it is
detrimental to the cause. While you want me to involve the local
community especially software vendors, you basically forbid me to do so
in the name of OWASP: I doubt that any software vendor would like to
join a local chapter just because I ask them and explain to the it is
for a good cause namely OWASP. I would like to at least mention that it
is an _official_ part of OWASP such a local chapter and that I am
basically asking in the name of OWASP local chapters for that particular
company to join. I guess I am getting at the "may not use the OWASP
name" in particular. This, at least to me, implies that I may not
mention OWASP in any mail I write to a company or a conversation I might
have on the phone or in person, since i am not "legally" affiliated with
OWASP.
Please enlighten me. Thanks
