FIRST is a well regarded institution in the Incident Response community and
has a similar set of core values with OWASP.

We could easily promote this as a "partner event" with FIRST.

Good to hear from you.  Will be in Portugal next week for OWASP Summit!

To me, this is a perfect collaboration between not-for-profits dedicated
to security.  We've been wrestling with how to partner with *commercial*
conferences for this kind of thing, but FIRST seems like a great
partner.  I've copied Mark Bristow, who runs the OWASP Global
Conferences committee, as I'd like to get their buy-in on becoming an
affiliate.

Hi Jeff and Dave,

Hey, I'm sitting in Barcelona this week for some face-to-face FIRST
Board meetings.  A topic of discussion has come up that I'd like to
broach with you all.

We'd like to do a "FIRST Affiliates Program" for this year's annual
conference (12-17 June 2011, in Vienna, Austria -- see
http://conference.first.org/ for details).  We'd like to know if OWASP
would be interested in participating in this.  The details are as
follows:

- Cost to affiliate is $0.
- Affiliates advertise/mention our FIRST conference via the link above.
- Members of affiliate organization (in good standing) get a 10%
discount off our normal conference registration fee.

Plain and simple.  If you're willing to mention our conference on your
web site, we'll give your members a discount to our conference.  And
we'd be willing to reciprocate if you're interested in that as well.

The only overhead is we'd need to get an authentication yes/no from you
regarding any OWASP members who request the discount.

Do you think OWASP would be interested in doing that with us?
