Hi Mark,

One of the reasons I joined the conference committee was to be an enabler -
to help the people organizing conferences by providing expertise while
ensuring coordination among OWASP chapters. While we are doing fine with the
coordination, I feel it would benefit us all to keep in touch with the
conference organization. Perhaps we should invite conference chairs to talk
with us - at least the month before opening registration. This would help to
ensure:

   - Conference is properly priced
   - Enough talks have been submitted
   - There is a good plan for venue utilization
   - Keynotes have been selected
   - We can use our tweeter and LinkedIn accounts to help promote the event
   - ...

We can use our tweeter and LinkedIn accounts to help promote the event.
While it's hard to get everyone in a conference call, I find it valuable to
hear the reasoning behind conference approvals and rejects.
