[Global_conference_committee] China conference

Dhruv et all,

1. IIRC we covered this at a meeting about a year ago. Separate to my
recollection the policy was that external websites were fine for events,
however they have to link back to the OWASP Wiki in some fashion. They
don't just have to re-direct as it's hard to put up "marketing like"
materials on the wiki. The wiki however, must be maintained as a primary
information source, the outside domain is secondary.

My concern with the website is that it's not just for the conference, or
rather it may not be. The URL is owasp.org.cn which would indicate that
it's for the organization, not just one event (like the appsecdc.org page is
clearly just for the con). This however is more an issue for
connections/the board IMO. If it was me, owaspasiasummit.org.cn would have
been better. Seems to me that the owasp.org.cn domain should redirect to
the main wiki.

2. I am seriously concerned with a lack of communication here. We had had
some initial discussions some time ago on this subject but were under the
impression that this summit would not take place this year. It is the
function of the GCC to provide oversight of the conduct and content of the
various OWASP events and conferences. In this instance I do have some
content concerns, and I have no idea how the conference is being conducted,
funded, organized ectera. This is of significant concern.

To your original point, yes, if it's being billed as an Asia summit we
should have engaged other OWASP chapters in the region for support. As we
didn't know about the conference, we could not execute on this.

3 & 4. As I don't read Mandarin and based on google's limited translation
capebilities, I'd like the committee to meet with the organizers to discuss
these points in an interactive manor.

I appreciate and encourage the organizers for their efforts in undertaking
the organization of a conference. It's a big job. But it's important that
the GCC be involved to ensure that the event is coordinated with our global
strategy and has content appropriate to the OWASP mission.
